By bringing the disruptive Harry's under Edgewell's control, the complaint alleges, the proposed acquisition would eliminate important and growing competition among suppliers of wet shave razors, and would inflict significant harm on consumers of razors across the United States.

The founders of hip shave brand, Harry's, had recently signed a deal to sell their company to consumer brand corporation Edgewell for $1.37 billion.

In May 2019, Edgewell Personal Care, the owner of the Schick brand of shaving products, announced plans to purchase Harry's for $1.4 billion. The merger was intended to finalise by the end of the first quarter of 2020.
